SIR ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE (1859-1930) was a physician and prolific writer, but best known as the creator of the fictional detective, Sherlock Holmes. He was also a Freemason.

Doyle was initiated at the Phoenix Lodge No. 257 in Southsea, Hampshire.
